Kaduthanathu Family Origin

Kaduthanathu family is a well known and well established Christian family in Central Travancore of Kerala State. It was originated from Sri.Thommi Vellaringad who was migrated from Pala in Kottayam district to Anicad village in the present Mallappally taluk of Pathanamthitta district, during the 18th century. The basic family is the one called 'Vellaringad Family' and later its members were migrated to different parts of Central Travancore. The families migrated have adopted different names by virtue of their residence and thereafter they are known by the new names. Thus the Kaduthanathu family is a group of family members of two subgroups of Vellaringad family named as Kaduthanam and MeKaduthanam among the total 23 subgroups of the main family as listed in the book of ‘The History of Vellaringad Family’ published in 1992.

All of the members of this family are listed in the site excluding infants and teenagers born during the last two decades. Additions of new comers along with any mistakes/ omissions/ contact details will be corrected/ updated on getting sufficient bonafide details from the corresponding family members. Sri.Kuncheria Kaduthanam is the forefather of this family. The members up to next six generations are included in the list. The qualification, position, official/ financial statusco, Christian denomination etc. are seen varied among the members as clear from a broad outlook of the listing. However, there are no billionaires or very poor people among the members as understood. There are three senior priests in this family, two from Malankara Orthodox Church and one from Mar Thoma Church.

The Holy Bible says that “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!” (Psalms 133:1).  To know/ communicate/ help each other is the basic responsibility of each family member, as defined by God during the Holy Creation of Family. The intention of this website is satisfied, if this goal is fulfilled to the extent of its possibility. May God Almighty shower His blessings to the members. Thanks to all.
